Newsletter from Leo - 13th March 2014

The February/March HSS tour ended all too soon last Saturday and we want to thank you for giving us such a fantastic welcome. We had a great time playing for you and we will never stop touring as long you want to hear us play.

The new HSS CD is selling hot off the presses and I want to thank you all for that too. It’s encouraging to have such a quick and positive response.

Later in the year we will be doing a limited edition run in vinyl. I love the sound of vinyl and judging by your email requests many of you do too.

There are some one-off shows planned for the summer and a long European tour starts in autumn and runs into next year. We will be playing more shows in France and the United States. Many of you have requested gigs in the UK. We are working on that too. Updates will be posted on the website.

We are recording a live CD. We’ll try to pick a venue and make a special event of it. The recording should be in the can ready for release towards the end of the year. Watch this space.

Trivia from the road

Joe is giving away his baritone guitar in a competition. He played the baritone a few times on the new CD. You can enter the competition right here on the web site.

Damon has bought a new drum kit and it sounds and looks great. I think he even dreams about it.

Four years ago ‘The Bass Centre’, London made me a signature model bass, a replica of my original ’62 Fender bass and most times on tour you will see me playing the replica. On the recent tour, by way of a change, I took my original 1962 Fender Jazz bass out with me. It’s the bass I played at Woodstock. We all agreed it sounded great. It was good to give it an airing but I will not be giving away my bass in a competition.

We now have mood lighting and privacy curtains on our tour bus. Thanks to Mark and Oli.

I’m writing this letter and, at the same time, looking out of my office window at a glorious sunny spring day. I should carry on with some paperwork or start a new song but instead I think I’ll go for walk in the park. I’ll write the song in my head as I walk.

Hope to see some of you out there.

Regards Leo
